10/25 - Portland Beg/Int Shuffle Workshops
There are 2 separate workshops being offered for shufflers who already know the basics and are ready to level up! Read the details below for each one, then you can choose which one to purchase, or bundle them together to save $ (please do not use any discount codes on the bundle since it is already discounted).
Classes will be held on Sunday 10/25 at:
Portland Dance Studio
232 SE Oak St,
Portland, OR 97214
(Please note this is a different location than the Beginner Shuffle Class being offered on Saturday!)
.
Sunday 10/25 - Add Style to Your Shuffling
3-4pm | (prerequisites: must already know Running Man + T-Step)
Take the moves you know and unlock a deeper understanding of how to manipulate, adapt, and stylize them to express what you want to express. This is the class where things go from feeling like “i’m doing moves” to “i’m actually dancing and interpreting the music through my movement.”
In this 1 hour crash course, you will:
Explore key principles of stylization and how to create infinite variations out of moves you already know
Gain a more thorough understanding of the creative process and mindset that goes into freestyle dance
Learn drills and prompts you can repeat at home to improve your body control, technique, and creative thinking on the fly
Expand (or start to create) your own style
Sunday 10/25 - Beg/Int Choreography
4-5:30pm | (prerequisites: running man, charleston, and t-step will help, or previous dance background that allows you to pick up moves quickly)
You know the moves, now get inspired with new ways to integrate them into your flow! This choreography will have a saucy, mixed-style shuffle base with a hip hop flare and LOTS of musicality moments. Choreography is a great tool to train your timing, angles, control, and transitions.

Purchase each workshop separately, or bundle them together for a discount if you’d like to attend them both!

There are no refunds for missed classes. Once the reservation has been purchased, it is the students responsibility to arrive at class and be on time. Missed time will not be made up in order to keep the rest of the class moving on schedule.

Make sure to wear breathable clothes and bring water.
DIRTY/STREET SHOES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE STUDIO to protect the floor - please clean your shoes before you arrive. Lysol wipes will be provided for a quick wipe down but if your shoes are very dirty (too dirty for the Lysol wipes to clean), you will be asked to remove them before stepping onto the dance floor.

Meet your instructor:
Cisco (@cisco.psd) - Cisco is a full-time shuffler from Seattle, WA, and founder of the You Can Shuffle With Us dance school. She teaches hybrid style shuffling and has a passion for helping beginners find their flow. She has taught workshops all over the country and also performs shuffling at nightclubs and festivals in the PNW.
Her approach to teaching is FUN FIRST and judgement-free. We are all here to learn and grow, and that process should be enjoyable and safe for everyone<3
